CPDS tracks Habitat Restoration Projects of various types, such as fencing, channel reconstruction, livestock watering, and riparian planting, to name a few, from the issue of grants through to the implementation and follow-up effectiveness monitoring stages of a project.
To support the CPDS, detailed maps were developed that show the location of conservation projects overlaid on a large number of relevant data layers such as:
ENKON was awarded a contract to create a Permit Management System for Environment Canada (EC), the Disposal at Sea system (ECDS). EC was working with outdated systems that could no longer be maintained and that did not fit the needs of all staff. ENKON worked closely with EC to map out the business processes that the existing system was failing to fulfill and to plan out how this and other systems could be replaced by a single, all-encompassing system which would suit the working practices of staff in offices across Canada. This system was deployed using many components of the Viridian application suite.
