Junior GIS Technician
ENKON Information Systems is a leader in providing web-enabled Information Management Systems to clients across North America. ENKON is currently looking for a highly motivated, detail-oriented GIS Technician to join its dynamic team in Victoria, BC. This position will appeal to a recent GIS graduate; a person who wants to learn and advance their professional career in GIS sciences.
You will be responsible for using the ESRI GIS mapping products for creating web based map services, managing GIS data sets, data conversion and producing high-quality digital and hard-copy maps. You will have strong computer skills and ESRI product knowledge, specifically ArcMAP, ArcCatalog and ArcGIS Server. A diploma or an undergraduate degree will be required for the position. |

.NET Programmers
We are currently looking for junior, intermediate, and senior .NET web programmers for our Victoria office.
Your key role will be programming new functionality and supporting existing architecture using ASP.NET, C#, HTML, DHTML, XML/XSL, JavaScript and MS SQL Server 2005. Other tasks will include application design, integration of third-party utilities and production of detailed written technical specifications and test plans.
Candidates for Intermediate and Senior positions will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent, and
5 years (minimum) experience.
- Expert in C#, ASP.NET and web services in the .NET framework.
- Expert knowledge of database concepts, structures, and data flow processes.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server.
- Knowledge of programming languages, including programming for the Internet (i.e., HTML, JAVA, ASP, COM+, VB, C/C++, XML/XSL).
- Extensive experience in Internet multi-tier (N Tier Application Development) architecture concepts and development model.
- Proficient in working in Visual Studio and Team Foundation Server.
Additional skills considered a strong asset:
- Experience with database design and database administration will be considered a strong asset.
- Knowledge of GIS technologies and mapping techniques will be considered an asset.
Candidates for the Junior position should have:
- Demonstrated experienced in a .NET environment
- Proficiency working in Visual Studio .NET, with an emphasis on ASP.NET and C#.
- Solid SQL skills
- A minimum of a B.Sc. in Computer Sciences
Additional skills considered a strong asset:
- Experience with MS SQL Server and Transact-SQL.
- ESRI GIS applications, other web mapping technologies or MS Sharepoint.
