"The use of an 'Application Solutions Provider'
(ENKON) to build, host and deliver a web-based spatial management system was a very
innovative approach. Our assessment of this was that PTA has received a high value business
outcome at a very competitive cost using minimal technical and support resources."

Government of Western Australia Geographic Information
Systems (GIS) are computer systems used to store, manipulate and display
geographically referenced information (i.e., data identified according to their
geographic locations). GIS technology is a very effective information management
tool that can be used to assist resource managers, facility managers and development
planners.
ENKON's staff provide a range of services aimed at supporting the design of efficient
and useful GIS applications that meet your specific information management needs.
Our staff can provide the following GIS services:
Data Processing
- Geocoding - Addition of real-world coordinates
to data based on street address information.
- Georeferencing - Adding or adjusting coordinate
values using control points and accurate base data.
- Network construction - Enhancing existing linework
by adding directionality and connectivity, thereby making network analysis possible.
- Format conversion - Conversion of spatial or
attribute data from one file format to another. ENKON specializes in the conversion
of non-georeferenced corporate CAD data (engineering drawings, mini-surveys, building
plans, etc.) to well-attributed spatial datasets.
Imagery Services
- Orthorectification - Removing distortion from
a digital image or aerial photograph and georeferencing it to its actual location
in space. This involves removing parallax errors due to relief (high ground being
closer to the camera than low lying areas), camera tilt, and other distortions.
- Format conversion - Translation from one file
format to another, often requiring alternate georeferencing techniques.
- Sourcing image - ENKON can source satellite
and aerial photo images for anywhere in the world for use in enviroLIS
applications.
- Surface analysis - Three-dimensional object
analysis, including surface modeling and 3D visualization.
-
Model Creation - Design of a structured set of rules and procedures
to simulate real-world activity. Spatial models are excellent tools for analyzing
complex systems.
Cartographic Services
- Custom Map Production - Production of digital
or hard-copy maps. ENKON makes thousands of thematic digital maps available to its
clients around the clock via the Internet. We also provide all types of hard-copy
map series upon request.
